Overview

At On Demand Fulfillment, we offer two label printing solutions to meet your product needs:

1. Standard In-House Labels — printed on-demand using durable BOPP material

2. HQ (High Quality) Labels — outsourced in bulk with laminated finishes

As of 2025, all in-house printing using Epson C8000u printers and BOPP label material, providing enhanced durability and a more polished appearance across all label sizes.

Standard In-House Labels (Printed On-Demand)

Our on-demand label system is a cost-effective solution built for new business owners, startups, small supplement brands, and even fast-growing companies that need to stay agile. We print exactly what you need, when you need it — no bulk orders or long lead times required.

This makes it ideal for:

• Launching your first product

• Fulfilling small, frequent batches

• Rapidly scaling brands that can’t afford production delays

Because labels are printed in-house, you won’t have to wait for outsourced production or shipping — helping you avoid bottlenecks and keep orders moving quickly.

All of our client have the option to order HQ labels — but our on-demand system makes it easy to start and scale with confidence.

Our Label Material

We now use BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) — a high-durability, plastic-based label material.

• Moisture- and tear-resistant

• Wrinkle-resistant during application

• Smoother, more professional finish

• Richer color saturation and consistency

Finish: Gloss only (no matte or specialty finishes available in-house)

• Limitations

  Due to the lack of curing in our printers, labels produced with this material will be of B+ quality at best (compared to HQ labels).

• Label Appearance Considerations: What to Expect with On-Demand Printing

• While our on-demand labels pass rigorous internal quality checks, occasional cosmetic variations may occur during shipping or handling. Below are some common issues we've observed, along with our recommendations to help you choose the best fit for your brand.

  White or Light-Colored Labels

  White or very light-colored labels can be more prone to minor ink transfer during transit, particularly in humid or high-friction environments. This is because ODF’s on-demand labels are not laminated or UV cured. The ink is durable but can be susceptible to smudging or rubbing under certain conditions.

  Although these issues can occur occasionally and are generally minor, we believe it’s important for clients to be aware.

  Our Recommendation:
  If your product line features light-colored designs and you're scaling up, we recommend considering HQ Labels to ensure a consistently clean, polished finish. That said, many of our clients ship high volumes using on-demand white labels with great success and minimal issues.

  Black or Dark-Colored Labels

  Solid black, navy, charcoal, and other dark labels can sometimes make minor cosmetic printing issues more visible, due to the strong contrast of the pigment. One common example is a faint white line caused by a partially clogged printhead. While we perform regular maintenance to minimize this risk, especially for black ink labels, occasional inconsistencies may still occur.

  Our Recommendation:
  For brands that require a flawless, high-end finish, upgrading to HQ Labels is the best way to ensure that elevated standard. However, many clients continue using dark on-demand labels at scale with consistently strong results—and we’re committed to maintaining that level of quality with every batch.

  Special Projects, Influencer Shipments, or Photoshoots

  If you're planning a special order such as a launch shipment, influencer mailers, or products being used for professional photography please notify our Support Team or your Onboarding Specialist ahead of time.

  We will:

  • Conduct an additional print quality check

  • Offer options like additional protective packaging or bottle wrapping
    
    

Important: Before placing any print order with a third-party supplier, your label files must be reviewed and approved by the ODF Proofing and QA Team for compliance. Labels that have not been reviewed and approved cannot be used in our facility.

Label Specs for Outsourcing

A friendly reminder before ordering from any third-party printer, your label files must be reviewed and approved by ODFs Proofing and QA Team.

Technical Requirements

• Unwind Direction: #4
  The unwind direction — that is, the direction the label comes off the labeling machine — is #4 (see image below). It should unwind to the left with the label on the outside.

• 

• Core Size: 3 inches

• Max Roll Diameter: 9 inches

• Backing Material: White only
  
  

  Our labeling machines use sensors that cannot register labels with clear backing material. Using clear backing will result in labels not being detected properly during application, causing each bottle to require manual hand application. To ensure smooth, automated processing and avoid delays, all outsourced labels must have white backing material only.

Label Size Information

Our standard bottle size is used for the majority of our products. Clients can order labels in the standard size of 2.4" x 6", which fits most bottles perfectly.

If you want your labels to be longer for a standard size label, the maximum length we allow is 7" (so, 2.4" height x 7" length). This allows for more label coverage while still ensuring proper application without bubbling or peeling.

• Standard Size: 2.4" x 6"
  

• Max Label Size (Standard Bottle): 2.4" x 7"
  

Please note that labels taller than 2.4" may cause application issues such as bubbling or peeling.
