Enhance your e-commerce operations by connecting your Shopify store with On Demand Fulfillment (ODF). This integration streamlines product listings, inventory management, order processing, and customer interactions — helping you automate your fulfillment process efficiently.
There are two ways for ODF to integrate with your Shopify store, depending on your Shopify subscription plan:
Please let us know which Shopify plan you have and our team will assist you from there.
If your store is on the Shopify Basic Plan, ODF will connect through Collaborator Access.
Before we can send the access request, we’ll need the following from you:
Your Shopify Domain — in the format: example.myshopify.com
Your 4-digit Collaborator Code — generated in your Shopify Admin
If you already have your Collaborator Code ready, please send it to the appropriate team below:
If you do not have it yet, please follow the instructions in Step 1 and Step 2 below to locate your Shopify Domain and generate your Collaborator Code.A domain is the URL or web address where your customers go to find your store online in Shopify. By default, your online store is assigned a myshopify.com URL when you sign up for Shopify.
Clients may have changed this domain in Shopify, so please be sure to send the current domain to ODF.
To find your current store URL:
From your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Domains.
Locate the Primary Domain — this is the URL you’ll provide to ODF.
Once you have your Shopify Domain, the next step is to locate your 4-digit Collaborator Code. This code allows ODF to connect to your store.
Steps to find your Collaborator Code:
From your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Users.
If your store is part of an organization, click Users.
If not, click Users & Permissions.
Click Security.
Find your 4-digit Collaborator Code and copy it to your clipboard.
Once you have both your Shopify Domain (Step 1) and Collaborator Code, send them to the appropriate team below:
Currently Onboarding with ODF: Send them to your Onboarding Specialist or onboarding@ondemandfulfillment.com.
Fully Active ODF clients: Send them to support@ondemandfulfillment.com.

How to Find or Manage Your Collaborator Code
Once ODF has your Shopify Domain and Collaborator Code, our team will submit the Collaborator Access request on our side. After we send the request, you’ll need to review and approve it in your Shopify Admin, assigning a role to ODF in the process.
Steps to Accept the Request:
From your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Users.
On the Users page, click the Requests to filter open collaborator requests.
Click the On Demand Fulfillment collaborator request to manage it.
In the Roles section, you’ll see an auto-generated user role. You have three options:
Review and edit the auto-generated role (recommended). ODF includes the needed permissions in the initial request
Assign an existing role if you’ve already created one for ODF. 🎥 Watch how to assign an existing user role
Create a new user role and assign it to ODF. 🎥 Watch how to create and assign a new user role
Ensure the assigned role includes the required permissions listed.
Note: The detailed list of required permissions is provided in the next section below.Click Accept Request to finalize collaborator access.
Once accepted, ODF will be able to complete the Shopify integration and begin syncing orders.
Please confirm that the assigned role (whether auto-generated or custom) includes the following permissions so ODF can integrate your store with our shipping system.

🎥 (Shopify Role Permission’s Video Tutorial)
If your store is on a Shopify, Advanced, or Plus plan, you can invite ODF directly as an Admin User. In the past, sending an Admin Invite was enough for ODF to gain the access needed to integrate your store. However, recent changes to Shopify now require that a specific user role with assigned permissions be created when granting access.
Steps:
In your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Users and Permissions.
Click Add Staff (or Add User, depending on your Shopify version).
Use this email address: support@ondemandfulfillment.com
Create and assign a role named (ODF) to the user you created for On Demand Fulfillment.
Create and Assign a Role for ODF
After adding ODF as an Admin user, you’ll need to create a new role from scratch named (ODF).
Steps for Creating and Assigning the Role:
Navigate to the Roles section in your Shopify Admin.
Click to create a new user role specifically for ODF.
🎥 Watch how to create a new user role
Assign this new role to the ODF user.
🎥 Watch how to assign a role to a user
Ensure the role includes the required permissions listed in the next section or as shown in the video under Step 2.
Finalize Integration:
Once ODF has been added as a user and the role with the required permissions is assigned, our team will finalize the Shopify integration on our side and begin syncing your orders.
Important: If the assigned role does not include the needed permissions, ODF will not be able to connect your store to our shipping software. In this case, we will contact you to review the permissions or have them updated so integration can be completed. Please confirm that the assigned role includes the following permissions so ODF can integrate your store with our shipping system:

After integration, review the following settings to ensure your orders sync correctly with ODF.
Depending on your Shopify plan, the shipping requirement setting may appear in different formats. Follow the appropriate steps below to confirm it is enabled for every physical product.
Open the product in Shopify.
Scroll to the Shipping section.
Ensure the checkbox “This product requires shipping” is checked.
Open the product in Shopify.
Scroll to the Shipping section.
Locate the toggle labeled “This product requires shipping”.
Important:
This setting may display differently depending on your Shopify plan.
If this option is not enabled, Shopify will treat the item as a digital product, and ODF will not receive the order.
Go to Settings > Checkout (or Settings > General, depending on your Shopify version).
Under Order Processing, verify that the settings match the required configuration for proper order processing with On Demand Fulfillment (ODF).
Once your store access (via Collaborator Access or Admin Invite) is approved and settings are verified, clients may remove the ODF user if desired. However, if the store becomes disconnected for any reason, ODF will need to be re-added to restore the integration. To simplify any future reconnections, we recommend retaining the ODF-created role with its assigned permissions, even if the user is removed.
